Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Online Course Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating engaging, interactive, and effective online learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of our learners. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, has a strong understanding of instructional design principles, and possesses the ability to leverage technology to enhance the learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Course Design and Development:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify learning objectives and course content.
- Design and develop online courses that incorporate various instructional strategies and multimedia elements.
- Create engaging and interactive content, including videos, quizzes, assignments, and discussion prompts.
- Instructional Design:
- Apply principles of instructional design and adult learning theory to develop a curriculum that caters to different learning styles.
- Ensure course materials are accessible and meet standards for diverse learners, including those with disabilities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve course content based on learner feedback and assessment data.
- Technology Utilization:
- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) to deliver, manage, and track courses.
- Explore and implement new technologies and tools that enhance the online learning experience.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends in e-learning and instructional technology.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple course development projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including timelines, budgets, and status reports.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Develop assessment tools to measure learner outcomes and course effectiveness.
- Analyze assessment results to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for course updates.
- Conduct regular reviews and revisions of course content to ensure it remains current and relevant.
- Learner Support:
- Provide support and guidance to learners throughout their online learning experience.
- Respond to learner inquiries and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster an inclusive and engaging online community through discussion forums and group activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in online course development or instructional design.
- Proficient in using learning management systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard.
- Strong knowledge of multimedia design tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and video editing software.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices in online education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess learner needs and course effectiveness.
