Remote Behavioral Health Pharmacist

Description

Remote Behavioral Health Pharmacist

Welcome to a Career Where Compassion Meets Clinical Excellence

What if your daily work could help rebuild someone’s mental wellness, all from the comfort of your home? Imagine a role that doesn’t just fill prescriptions but fills lives with hope, understanding, and support. As a Remote Behavioral Health Pharmacist, you’ll be part of a transformative care model that blends clinical expertise with empathy to support individuals navigating mental health challenges. We’re committed to nurturing an inclusive workplace, and we celebrate the power of diverse perspectives in driving innovative care outcomes.

This full-time, remote role offers an annual salary of $141,500, accompanied by meaningful opportunities for both personal and professional growth.

Why This Role Matters

Mental health deserves the same level of personalized care and attention as any physical ailment—and that begins with pharmacists who genuinely care. Our team collaborates with case managers, behavioral health professionals, and community providers to ensure patients receive medication therapy that supports their emotional and psychological wellness. Every prescription you verify, every question you answer, and every dose you recommend is a step toward someone's brighter day.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Medication Therapy Management

  • Review and optimize medication regimens for individuals with behavioral health conditions.
  • Educate patients and caregivers about psychiatric medications, side effects, and expected outcomes.
  • Ensure therapeutic drug monitoring, especially for high-risk psychotropics.

Collaborative Interventions

  • Partner with interdisciplinary teams to tailor care plans to patients' unique needs.
  • Offer consults to prescribers regarding dosage, safety, and therapeutic alternatives.
  • Identify potential drug interactions or duplications and intervene proactively.

Supportive Communication

  • Deliver patient-centric care via secure virtual platforms.
  • Assist in medication adherence planning through motivational interviewing and follow-up sessions.
  • Address medication access barriers, including cost, availability, and insurance issues.

Quality Assurance & Documentation

  • Maintain meticulous documentation aligned with pharmacy and behavioral health regulations.
  • Participate in quality audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Contribute to outcomes reporting and care evaluations.

A Workplace That Feels Like Home

We believe a thriving team starts with a sense of belonging. Our culture emphasizes:

  • Collaboration: You’re never alone—we operate as a unified care team, sharing insights and celebrating wins together.
  • Respect: Every voice matters, from the most seasoned clinician to the newest remote hire.
  • Flexibility: With our work-from-anywhere approach, you’ll have the autonomy to design a routine that balances productivity and wellness.
  • Inclusion: Our diverse team comprises professionals from diverse backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. We welcome people of all identities and remain committed to creating an environment founded on equity and mutual respect.

Technology That Works With You, Not Against You

In a remote role, reliable tools are key. You’ll use:

  • HIPAA-compliant virtual consultation platforms
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR) with behavioral health modules
  • AI-driven medication therapy management systems
  • Collaborative dashboards for interdisciplinary care updates

These technologies are designed to streamline documentation and support your ability to provide attentive, personalized care to each patient.

What You Bring to the Team

Must-Haves

  • PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral or psychiatric pharmacy settings
  • Proficiency in psychopharmacology and evidence-based treatment guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills with a patient-first approach

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Psychiatric Pharmacy (BCPP)
  • Familiarity with virtual health systems and telepharmacy workflows
  • Experience working on diverse or multidisciplinary teams

A Real Story of Inclusion and Support

When Jordan, a neurodivergent pharmacist, joined our team last year, they expressed concern about communicating effectively in a remote setting. With personalized mentorship and tech tools tailored to their workflow, Jordan not only thrived but also went on to lead a project that improved patient compliance among young adults. Their story is one of many showing how we foster a workplace where everyone, regardless of gender, ability, or background, can grow and contribute.

Career Development That Moves With You

Your journey doesn’t end at job acceptance. We provide:

  • Ongoing CE credit opportunities in psychiatric pharmacy and telehealth
  • Monthly wellness stipends and mental health days
  • Leadership development programs for pharmacists seeking managerial or clinical lead roles
  • Opportunities to mentor pharmacy interns and precept virtual rotations
