Remote Eco-Tourism Consultant
Description
Remote Eco-Tourism Consultant
Inspire a Greener Future, One Journey at a Time
Imagine being the voice behind responsible travel decisions, working hand-in-hand with communities to craft memorable, sustainable adventures. As a Remote Eco-Tourism Consultant, your passion for the planet and people will guide explorers toward ethical choices, without ever needing to leave your home. With an annual salary of $53,111, this role is as meaningful as it is rewarding. You’ll be part of a globally inclusive team dedicated to climate-conscious travel and local empowerment, where every voice counts, and every culture is celebrated.
About the Role
Your Purpose and Impact
In this fully remote position, you’ll serve as a bridge between nature, local communities, and eco-conscious travelers. Your mission is to design sustainable tourism experiences, curate partnerships with ethical vendors, and guide organizations or clients in minimizing environmental impact while maximizing positive social outcomes. This is not just consulting—it’s leading a movement. You’ll shape experiences that foster global awareness, environmental stewardship, and cross-cultural connection.
Core Responsibilities
- Craft customized eco-tour itineraries that highlight sustainability and local engagement.
- Collaborate with local guides, NGOs, and travel operators to ensure culturally respectful and environmentally friendly practices.
- Assess tourism projects for sustainability and community impact.
- Develop content, from ethical travel guidelines to eco-destination spotlights.
- Train internal teams and external clients on sustainable travel principles.
- Utilize data insights and customer feedback to refine and enhance offerings.
- Participate in virtual workshops and conferences that promote climate-aware travel trends.
- Support DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) principles across client-facing materials and strategies.
Our Work Culture & Values
A Culture of Compassion and Belonging
We're more than a team—we’re a global community bonded by our shared love for the environment and mutual respect. Inclusion is the heart of our mission. From welcoming voices across every gender identity, ethnicity, and ability to ensuring our team meetings are safe, accessible, and respectful, we work to create a workplace where everyone thrives. We’re proud of the stories we’ve helped write—like Amira’s, a consultant who transitioned from fieldwork in Kenya to remote eco-tour planning, now mentoring others while balancing family life.
Team Collaboration Across Borders
Our remote setup encourages unity, not isolation. Cross-functional collaboration tools make brainstorming, project development, and real-time feedback seamless and efficient. Whether it’s weekly virtual tea breaks or cultural celebration days, we foster genuine human connection. You’ll find your input matters and your uniqueness adds to our shared strength.
Tools, Technology, and Workflow
Empowering You with Modern Platforms
Our tech stack is as forward-thinking as our values. You'll use cloud-based platforms like Trello, Notion, and Asana to manage projects, while collaborative tools like Miro and Slack keep creativity flowing. Sustainability dashboards help track carbon offsets and travel impacts. We also incorporate GIS mapping for destination development and Zoom for virtual client consultations.
Digital Simplicity, Human Creativity
We believe tech should enable—not replace—human ingenuity. You’ll have the digital tools to work smoothly, but your storytelling skills, emotional intelligence, and innovation will be what truly shines.
