Role Overview

As a Remote Functional Tester, your mission is to rigorously test applications and systems for performance, reliability, and usability. Key Responsibilities

Functional & Regression Testing

• 🟢 Develop, execute, and document detailed test cases for new and existing features
• 🟢 Conduct functional, integration, and regression testing across platforms
• 🟢 Work in tandem with engineers to clarify functional specifications and edge cases
• 🟢 Identify, report, and track bugs and inconsistencies using test management tools
• 🟢 Simulate real-world scenarios to verify the robustness and usability of applications
• 🟢 Ensure product behavior meets user expectations across different devices and systems

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• 🟠 Partner with developers, UX designers, and product managers to align on user needs
• 🟠 Provide thoughtful input in planning meetings and sprint retrospectives
• 🟠 Participate in requirement reviews to clarify functionality and improve test coverage
• 🟠 Offer quality-related insights that guide development decisions and enhance user experience
• 🟠 Build strong working relationships across time zones and disciplines to support open communication

Test Documentation & Quality Reporting

• 🔵 Maintain comprehensive records of test plans, scripts, and outcomes
• 🔵 Create clear defect reports and monitor resolution progress
• 🔵 Suggest improvements based on test results to enhance product quality
• 🔵 Collaborate on defining quality metrics that align with accessibility and performance goals
• 🔵 Translate technical feedback into actionable insights for product teams

Continuous Improvement

Qualifications & Skills

Must-Haves

• 🟢 3+ years of experience in functional or manual software testing
• 🟢 Experience with Agile development and test lifecycle methodologies
• 🟢 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• 🟢 Clear, compassionate communicator—both verbal and written
• 🟢 Familiarity with bug tracking tools like JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms
• 🟢 Ability to document defects in a user-friendly, solution-oriented manner
• 🟢 Deep curiosity about software behavior and a desire to improve product outcomes

Bonus Experience

• 🟡 Working knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)
• 🟡 Understanding of API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger
• 🟡 Background in accessibility or usability testing
