📄 Key Responsibilities of a Remote Legal Compliance Consultant

🔗 Ensure Regulatory Compliance

• Monitor and interpret a wide range of regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions
• Identify new regulations and assess their impact on internal policies and procedures
• Provide guidance and support to various departments to ensure consistent compliance practices

🔒 Develop Policies and Procedures

• Draft, review, and maintain internal compliance documentation and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with leadership to align policy development with evolving legal landscapes
• Create user-friendly policy documentation that encourages understanding and adherence across departments

📆 Support Risk Management

• Perform compliance risk assessments and offer strategic recommendations to mitigate exposure
• Establish and refine internal control systems in partnership with operational teams
• Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective action plans

📅 Conduct Internal Audits

• Lead periodic audits to assess adherence to policies and identify potential areas for improvement
• Document audit findings and work cross-functionally to implement enhancements

📄 Qualifications and Skills for Success

🔹 Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field (JD or equivalent preferred)
• At least 3 years of experience in legal compliance or corporate advisory roles
• Demonstrated experience navigating U.S. federal and state regulatory environments

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken, with an ability to convey information clearly
