Key Responsibilities

• Database Administration: Manage, tune, and secure Microsoft SQL Server environments—including high-availability clusters, disaster recovery, and transactional replication.
• Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor database health, identify bottlenecks, and fine-tune indexes and queries for optimal efficiency across all platforms.
• Backup and Recovery: Implement automated backup strategies, conduct regular restore drills, and ensure data integrity for mission-critical systems.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce access controls, audit trails, alongside robust data encryption to protect confidential data and uphold regulatory compliance.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop PowerShell scripts and automation workflows to streamline routine maintenance and deploy new releases with zero downtime.
• Collaboration: Partner with DevOps, cloud engineers, and business intelligence teams to design scalable data solutions that fuel decision-making across the enterprise.
• Incident Response: Lead troubleshooting efforts, resolve incidents rapidly, and perform deep-dive analyses to identify and eliminate underlying issues.

• Always On Availability Groups for high availability

Ideal Candidate Profile

Qualifications

• A four-year degree in a technology field such as computer science, IT, or a comparable area of study
• 5+ years’ experience in database administration, with advanced expertise in Microsoft SQL Server

• Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (especially Azure SQL Database) and hybrid database solutions

• Clear, practical communication abilities for explaining technical details across remote teams

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in a fully remote or distributed team
