Remote Network Administrator Job Description
Join an Inclusive Workplace Built on Trust and Collaboration
Imagine being a part of a company where your expertise doesn’t just maintain critical infrastructure—it helps build a culture grounded in empathy, technical excellence, and meaningful human connection. As a Remote Network Administrator, you won’t just manage systems; you’ll empower a diverse team with stable, secure, and scalable networks. We believe in embracing the talents of individuals from every walk of life, and we invite you to contribute to an environment that values respect, teamwork, and shared success.
About the Role
We’re looking for a network specialist who can administer, maintain, and troubleshoot our remote enterprise systems. This role is ideal for an individual with a solid understanding of LAN/WAN architectures, cloud-based networking, and security protocols—someone who excels at solving problems collaboratively and enjoys working in a digital-first team environment. You’ll be the backbone of our IT operations, ensuring seamless connectivity for remote teams and resilient systems that support our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Proactively monitor systems to detect potential issues and resolve them before they escalate.
- Implement and manage robust cybersecurity practices to ensure the protection of all network endpoints and data.
- Collaborate with the DevOps and IT security teams to design resilient cloud and on-premise hybrid networks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues affecting remote employees and operational teams across time zones
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of system configurations, incidents, and resolutions.
- Perform routine network maintenance and apply necessary patches or firmware updates.
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers to manage network performance and service agreements.
What It's Like Working Here
Our company thrives on human connection, even in remote settings. We provide an inclusive workplace where every team member feels heard, respected, and supported. You won’t find rigid hierarchies or inaccessible leadership here—only a collaborative environment fueled by shared goals and genuine care for one another.
Expect daily standups that respect your time, a feedback culture that values honesty, and colleagues who appreciate the importance of strong digital infrastructure. We know that behind every successful system is a dedicated administrator who values reliability, security, and innovation.
Tools and Technology
Our network architecture is thoughtfully designed using modern tools and platforms. As our Remote Network Administrator, you will work with:
- Cisco Meraki and Fortinet firewalls
- Azure and AWS hybrid cloud platforms
- OpenVPN and WireGuard configurations
- Windows and Linux servers
- Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform
- Monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Nagios
You don’t need to be an expert in everything, but comfort with a broad range of platforms and a willingness to learn will help you thrive.
What We Look For
We’re interested in individuals who combine technical proficiency with emotional intelligence. While certifications are necessary, we value curiosity, integrity, and a passion for evolving with emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Minimum of 3 years managing enterprise-level networks in a remote or hybrid setting
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, load balancers, and cloud security controls
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, subnetting, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
- Familiarity with SD-WAN technology and remote network optimization strategies
- Comfort working asynchronously with cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A belief in fostering inclusive, accessible, and diverse team environments
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking are a plus, but not required if you have demonstrable real-world experience.
Growth and Development
In this role, you’re not just supporting systems—you’re laying the foundation for your professional future. You’ll have access to:
- Sponsored certifications and continuing education
- Mentorship opportunities from senior engineers and IT leaders
- Virtual training programs tailored to evolving technologies
- Leadership pathways for those interested in expanding their influence
We support career journeys of all kinds, whether you're looking to strengthen your tech foundation or move into strategy and leadership roles.

- Flexible remote schedule with paid time off
- Health, dental, and vision insurance packages
- Employee assistance programs and mental health support
