Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research on destinations, accommodations, cultural norms, and activities to support trip planning efforts.
  • Analyze traveler profiles and preferences to personalize trip suggestions effectively.
  • Cross-reference travel data from verified sources, guidebooks, and tourism boards to ensure relevance and accuracy
  • Present concise research summaries to travel consultants or clients in accessible formats.
  • Collaborate with team members to update internal knowledge bases and destination databases.
  • Monitor travel alerts, visa changes, seasonal patterns, and local events to adjust recommendations proactively.
  • Research and recommend lesser-known yet safe and enriching travel experiences
  • Support itinerary design by researching transportation options, costs, time zones, and climate trends.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in travel planning, tourism research, or virtual assistant roles with a travel focus
  • Familiarity with booking platforms, mapping tools, and review aggregators
  • Strong command of English with exceptional reading comprehension and summarization skills
  • Adept at using spreadsheets, cloud databases, and research tools like Google Scholar, Rome2Rio, or TripAdvisor
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines independently in a fully remote setting
  • Attention to detail when documenting data, costs, and logistical recommendations
  • A working understanding of global geography, cultures, and time zones
  • Bachelor's degree in Travel & Tourism, Communications, Geography, or equivalent field preferred
