Job Description:

As a Librarian, you will play a vital role in curating, organizing, and managing our library resources to ensure seamless access for patrons. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Collection Management: Overseeing the selection, acquisition, cataloging, and classification of library materials to meet the diverse needs and interests of our community. This involves evaluating new acquisitions, maintaining an up-to-date catalog, and ensuring the effective organization of materials.
2. Reference Services: Providing assistance and guidance to library users in locating and accessing information resources. This includes answering inquiries, conducting research, and facilitating interlibrary loans to fulfill patrons' informational needs.
3. Reader Services: Promoting reading culture and literacy by assisting patrons in selecting appropriate reading materials, recommending titles, and organizing book displays and reading programs. Additionally, you'll facilitate book clubs, author visits, and other engaging events to enrich the library experience.
4. Information Literacy Instruction: Developing and delivering educational programs to enhance patrons' information literacy skills. This may involve conducting workshops, tutorials, and orientations on information retrieval, evaluation, and citation techniques.
5. Technology Management: Managing library automation systems, databases, and digital resources to optimize access and retrieval. You'll also stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in library services to enhance efficiency and innovation.
6. Facilities Management: Maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the library space. This includes shelving, shelf-reading, weeding, and ensuring compliance with library policies and procedures.
7. Community Engagement: Building strong relationships with patrons, stakeholders, and community partners to understand their needs and preferences. You'll actively participate in outreach activities, partnerships, and collaborations to expand the library's reach and impact.

Qualifications:

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level positions.
• Experience: While experience in a library or related field is desirable, we welcome applications from both fresher and experienced individuals who demonstrate a passion for librarianship and a willingness to learn.
• Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills are essential. Proficiency in library automation systems, digital resources, and information technologies is advantageous.
