Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Distance Learning Assessor to evaluate and support the quality and effectiveness of online learning programs. As a Distance Learning Assessor, you will work closely with instructional designers, faculty, and administrators to review and assess online courses, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement. Key Responsibilities:

1. Course Evaluation and Assessment

  • Review and assess the quality of online courses across various disciplines, ensuring they meet academic standards and align with the institution's learning outcomes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of course content, instructional materials, and digital resources in supporting student engagement and learning.
  • Ensure that courses are designed using evidence-based practices in online pedagogy and meet the needs of diverse learners.

2. Feedback and Recommendations

  • Provide detailed, actionable feedback to course designers and instructors on how to improve the quality, accessibility, and engagement of online courses.
  • Collaborate with faculty and instructional teams to identify strengths and areas for improvement in course design and delivery.
  • Recommend strategies for integrating emerging technologies and innovative teaching methods to enhance online learning experiences.

3. Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure that all online courses comply with accreditation standards, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess the effectiveness of assessment methods used in online courses, ensuring that they accurately measure student learning outcomes.
  • Conduct regular audits of online learning environments to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards.

4. Student Experience and Engagement

  • Evaluate the overall student experience in online courses, including navigation, accessibility, and usability.

5. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Master’s degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, or a related field is required. A Doctorate in a relevant field is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in educational assessment, instructional design, or online learning is required.
  • Proven experience in evaluating online or distance education programs.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and online teaching tools.
  • Experience working with accreditation and quality assurance standards in higher education is a plus.
