E-Learning Specialist (Remote)

Annual Salary: $77,185

Job Summary:

We are seeking a creative and motivated E-Learning Specialist to join our team in a fully remote position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing effective e-learning programs, courses, and materials for diverse audiences. The E-Learning Specialist will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and other team members to create engaging, interactive, and educational content that meets the needs of learners in various sectors.

This role requires a strong understanding of e-learning platforms, instructional design principles, and learning management systems (LMS). The successful candidate will be skilled in using authoring tools to develop digital learning materials and will be comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative, and remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. E-Learning Design and Development:
    • Develop, design, and implement interactive e-learning content, including courses, videos, simulations, quizzes, and assessments, using a variety of authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, etc.).
    • Collaborate with SMEs to identify learning objectives and ensure that e-learning materials are accurate, effective, and aligned with organizational goals.
    • Ensure that e-learning courses are accessible, including adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG) and the integration of features like closed captions, transcripts, and screen reader compatibility.
    • Incorporate multimedia elements (graphics, audio, video) into e-learning modules to enhance learner engagement and retention.
  2. Instructional Design:
    • Apply instructional design models (such as ADDIE, SAM, or Bloom’s Taxonomy) to the development of learning materials.
    • Develop learning objectives, outcomes, and assessments that measure the effectiveness of the courses and learning paths.
    • Provide expertise in designing learning solutions that promote interaction, learner engagement, and knowledge retention.
    • Utilize data-driven approaches to evaluate and improve the quality of learning content through learner feedback, assessments, and course analytics.
  3. Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:
    • Administer and maintain the organization’s LMS, ensuring that courses are properly uploaded, accessible to learners, and tracked for completion and certification.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues related to the LMS or course content, and work with internal or external IT support as needed to resolve them.
    • Monitor learner progress and provide technical support for users encountering issues within the LMS.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with other instructional designers, developers, and educational technologists to develop comprehensive learning solutions.
    • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to ensure the alignment of learning outcomes with organizational goals.
    • Manage timelines and project milestones to deliver high-quality e-learning content on schedule.
  5. Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in e-learning, instructional design, and educational technology.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve technical skills and stay current with industry best practices.
    • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and suggest improvements based on learner feedback and performance metrics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning and Development, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing e-learning programs.
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) and experience with LMS administration.
  • Knowledge of instructional design models and adult learning theories.
  • Ability to create visually engaging, interactive content using multimedia design principles.
  • Experience with multimedia production, including audio and video editing.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and how to apply them to digital learning content.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fully remote team environment.
  • Certification in instructional design or e-learning development (e.g., CPLP, APTD, etc.).
  • Experience in gamification of learning content or incorporating micro-learning techniques.
  • Familiarity with content development for mobile learning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs using data-driven approaches.
