💡 Role Overview
🖌️ Position Purpose
As a 2D Game Artist, you will work alongside a dynamic, international team of developers, writers, designers, and fellow artists. Your primary responsibility is to produce engaging 2D visuals that help define the look, feel, and emotional tone of our games. From character design to environments and UI illustrations, your art will be instrumental in drawing players into the worlds we build.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- 🎨 Design high-quality, original 2D assets including characters, environments, icons, and game props
- 🌈 Develop visually appealing UI/UX elements and menus that enhance the user experience
- 🖼️ Craft conceptual artwork that informs and supports creative direction
- 🤝 Work closely with design and development teams to align art and integrate well into gameplay
- 🔁 Receive, apply, and give constructive feedback to uphold team-wide artistic standards
- ⚙️ Optimize art assets for performance without compromising visual fidelity
🧠 Required Qualifications
🔧 Technical and Artistic Skills
- 🧠 Strong and diverse portfolio of 2D game art
- ✏️ Skilled in using digital illustration software like Photoshop, Illustrator, Clip Studio Paint, or equivalent
- 📐 Excellent sense of proportion, color theory, lighting, and composition
- 💡 Ability to create both stylized and realistic visual elements
- 🎮 Solid understanding of video game development pipelines and aesthetics
📘 Educational & Experience Background
- 🎓 Bachelor's degree in Game Art, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred (but not mandatory)
- 🕹️ 2+ years of experience working on commercial or independent game projects
- 💻 Previous experience in a remote or hybrid creative team setting is an advantage
