Key Responsibilities
- Design user experiences with accessibility as a fundamental principle from ideation to execution.
- Conduct accessibility audits and usability testing with diverse user groups.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure implementation aligns with WCAG 2.1 AA or higher.
- Convert user research findings into actionable improvements that resolve user pain points.
- Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes that reflect inclusive interaction patterns.
- Develop and maintain accessibility guidelines and UX documentation for internal use.
- Regularly contribute to cross-functional meetings and design critiques with a focus on universal design.

Qualifications and Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 1 year focused on accessible digital products
- Strong understanding of WCAG guidelines, ADA compliance, and assistive technologies such as screen readers
- Proficient in conducting inclusive usability testing with users of varying abilities
- A portfolio that demonstrates thoughtful design decisions, especially around accessibility and usability
- Familiarity with responsive design principles and mobile-first frameworks
- Ability to communicate complex accessibility concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Self-starter who can work independently and meet project deadlines without close supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- IAAP Certification or a similar accessibility credential
- Experience working in education, government, or healthcare industries
- Multilingual or international design experience
