Remote Instructional Designer

Location: Remote
Salary: $80,088 per year

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Remote Instructional Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating engaging and effective educational materials and learning experiences that align with our organization’s goals and objectives. You will work collaboratively with subject matter experts (SMEs), educators, and other stakeholders to develop high-quality instructional content that enhances the learning experience for a diverse audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development:
    • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive curriculum and instructional materials that meet the needs of learners and align with learning objectives.
    • Create engaging and interactive learning modules, courses, and assessments using various multimedia tools and platforms.
  2. Needs Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify learning gaps and opportunities for development.
    • Collaborate with SMEs to gather content requirements and understand the specific educational needs of target audiences.
  3. Instructional Design Models:
    • Apply instructional design theories, models, and best practices to develop effective learning solutions.
    • Utilize various instructional strategies, including blended learning, eLearning, and classroom-based instruction.
  4. Technology Integration:
    • Leverage technology to enhance learning experiences, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), authoring tools, and multimedia production software.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in educational technology and incorporate relevant tools into instructional designs.
  5. Content Creation:
    • Develop high-quality, user-friendly instructional materials such as eLearning courses, videos, job aids, and training manuals.
    • Ensure content is clear, concise, and accessible to diverse learners, adhering to universal design principles.
  6. Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Design formative and summative assessments to measure learner performance and understanding.
    • Analyze assessment results to identify areas for improvement and make necessary revisions to instructional materials.
  7. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to ensure alignment in training initiatives and company objectives.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure the successful implementation of instructional programs.
  8. Project Management:
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget constraints.
    • Use project management tools to track progress and maintain clear communication with team members.
  9. Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with advancements in instructional design and adult learning theory through ongoing professional development.
    • Participate in review and feedback processes to continuously improve instructional materials and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional design or a related field, preferably in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency in instructional design software and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience in multimedia production (video, audio, graphic design) is a plus.
