Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Remote Learning Program Developer to design, implement, and optimize remote educational experiences. As a key member of the learning and development team, you will work collaboratively with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and technical staff to create engaging, accessible, and high-quality online courses and programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of instructional design, educational technology, and remote learning best practices. You will play a vital role in shaping the future of digital education by ensuring that our remote learning offerings are effective, scalable, and aligned with learners' needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Design and Development:
- Develop remote learning programs from concept to completion, including planning, designing, building, testing, and refining educational content.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify learning objectives and design a curriculum that aligns with these goals.
- Use learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies to deliver content effectively.
- Create engaging, learner-centered course materials, such as video lectures, interactive modules, quizzes, and assessments.
- Implement multimedia and various forms of digital content (e.g., audio, video, simulations) to enhance the learning experience.
- Instructional Design and Methodology:
- Apply adult learning principles, instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM), and learner analysis to develop engaging educational content.
- Ensure that courses and programs are designed to accommodate diverse learning styles and are accessible to learners with disabilities.
- Utilize data-driven insights to refine program design and enhance learner outcomes.
- Ensure content is aligned with industry standards and up-to-date with the latest trends in online education.
- Technology Integration:
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in remote learning to continuously improve the delivery and design of programs.
- Work closely with IT and development teams to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure smooth delivery of online programs.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, platforms, and technologies that could improve the overall learning experience.
- Design learning solutions that can be scaled and adapted for multiple platforms and environments.
- Project Management:
- Manage all aspects of the remote learning program development lifecycle, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including faculty, instructional designers, and technical staff, to ensure timely and successful delivery of programs.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to course completion rates, learner satisfaction, and overall program effectiveness.
- Continuous Improvement and Evaluation:
- Analyze learner feedback, performance data, and program outcomes to make continuous improvements to learning content and delivery.
- Stay informed on the latest trends in remote education, instructional design, and learner behavior.
- Conduct usability testing, surveys, and evaluations to assess the effectiveness and accessibility of learning programs.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to instructors and other stakeholders on how to use the learning management system and other educational technologies.
- Offer guidance to instructors on best practices for remote teaching, including how to engage students, assess learning, and provide feedback in an online environment.
- Create resources and documentation for both instructors and learners to ensure a smooth experience with online courses.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelorโs degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field. A Masterโs degree is preferred but not required.
- Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or remote learning program development.
- Proven experience in developing online courses and using learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas).
- Familiarity with various e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia).
- Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in multimedia tools for creating course materials (e.g., video editing, graphic design).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for online education.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with gamification, microlearning, or mobile-first learning designs.
- Certification in instructional design or project management (e.g., PMP, CPLP).
- Experience with data analytics and measuring the impact of learning programs.
Work Environment:
This is a fully remote position. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to manage time effectively, and capable of working in a virtual environment with a distributed team. Collaboration will occur through video conferencing, email, and other online communication tools.
