Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Learning Quality Assurance Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our remote learning programs by evaluating the instructional design, content delivery, and overall user experience of our online educational offerings. Your main goal will be to optimize the effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction of the learning platform through continuous quality checks, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance (QA), instructional design, educational technology, or a related field, with a solid understanding of adult learning principles and online pedagogy. You will work closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, curriculum developers, and technical teams to ensure that our online courses meet or exceed industry standards and learner expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance & Evaluation

  • Conduct thorough quality assessments of remote learning materials, including course content, multimedia elements, interactive features, and assessments.
  • Identify areas for improvement in instructional design, content delivery, and learner engagement to ensure a seamless and effective learning experience.
  • Develop and implement QA protocols to monitor and evaluate the consistency, accuracy, and usability of all online courses and training materials.
  • Perform periodic reviews and audits to ensure that course content aligns with learning objectives, industry standards, and accreditation requirements.

2. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze user feedback, assessment data, and engagement metrics to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement in course delivery and effectiveness.
  • Create detailed reports and dashboards that outline course performance, user engagement, and the overall quality of the remote learning platform.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to implement data-driven enhancements and monitor the impact of improvements on learner outcomes and satisfaction.

3. Collaboration with Stakeholders

  • Partner with instructional designers, curriculum developers, subject matter experts, and technical teams to address identified issues and improve content and delivery mechanisms.
  • Provide constructive feedback to content creators and course developers based on QA findings, ensuring that courses meet quality standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between the QA department and other teams to facilitate communication, alignment, and project prioritization.

4. Process Improvement

  • Continuously refine and develop quality assurance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices specific to remote learning.
  • Establish a continuous improvement loop by documenting and addressing recurring issues and incorporating lessons learned into future project planning.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in online education and quality assurance to ensure the organization remains competitive and compliant with evolving standards.

5. Compliance & Accreditation

  • Ensure all learning materials comply with relevant educational standards, policies, and accreditation guidelines.
  • Assist in preparing for audits, certifications, and renewals by maintaining documentation of QA processes and improvements.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of accessibility standards, ensuring courses are compliant with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) guidelines and other applicable regulations.

6. User Experience & Engagement

  • Focus on enhancing the overall user experience by identifying areas where learners may struggle with content or platform navigation.
  • Recommend and implement strategies to increase learner engagement, motivation, and retention rates.
  • Conduct user testing and feedback sessions to better understand the learner experience and integrate that feedback into quality improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, instructional design, or educational technology, with a focus on remote learning platforms.
  • Proven experience in evaluating and improving online learning materials, including multimedia elements and assessments.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform decisions and improve processes.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and online instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance (e.g., WCAG, Section 508, ADA) is highly desirable.
  • Certification in quality assurance (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is a plus.
