This role is instrumental in upholding artistic accuracy and accessibility, propelling our creative ecosystem forward.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Core Responsibilities

  • Convert audio files, recordings, or live performances into precise musical notation using transcription software.
  • Interpret complex polyphonic textures, jazz improvisations, orchestral arrangements, or vocal melodies and produce accurate transcriptions.
  • Apply music theory knowledge to ensure harmonies, rhythms, and dynamics are correctly represented.
  • Communicate with clients and team members to confirm expectations, clarify style requirements, and meet project goals.
  • Edit and revise transcriptions based on feedback to ensure final results meet high professional standards.
  • Maintain file organization, naming consistency, and version control throughout transcription projects.
  • Meet recurring deadlines while maintaining precision and attention to sonic detail.

Collaborative Contributions

  • Participate in remote brainstorming sessions to enhance transcription workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Provide insights on advanced music editing tools and suggest upgrades or plugins for optimal results.
  • Share creative input when adapting sheet music for various formats, such as lead sheets, orchestral scores, or MIDI transcriptions.

Where You'll Work: Your Studio, Your Rules

This is a 100% remote position. Whether you prefer a cozy home setup, a bustling co-working hub, or a soundproof studio, you decide what environment suits your workflow best. We prioritize flexibility and trust, giving you the freedom to manage your workspace and schedule around your most productive hours.

Collaboration is fully digital. All communication, assignments, and submissions happen via secure cloud platforms—no commute, no cubicles—just you and your passion for musical accuracy.

Skills That Set You Apart

We’re looking for someone who not only hears music but feels its structure. If you instinctively recognize time signatures, catch subtle pitch variations, or appreciate the tension behind chord voicings, this role is for you.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in music transcription, notation editing, or music engraving
  • Advanced knowledge of music theory, harmony, rhythm, and arrangement techniques
  • Proficiency in at least one notation program and one audio editing tool
  • Ability to accurately identify musical elements such as key, meter, tempo, phrasing, and dynamics
  • Keen ear for detail, especially in multi-instrumental or dense musical textures
  • Strong written communication and time-management skills

  • Background in audio engineering or score preparation
  • Experience working with clients remotely or in collaborative creative projects
  • Familiarity with a range of genres—classical, jazz, pop, hip-hop, film scores, and more
