What You’ll Be Creating (and Breaking—Creatively)

• Design and build custom Squarespace websites that blend functionality with flair
• Customize templates beyond recognition, turning default layouts into digital masterpieces.
• Integrate third-party APIs to amplify client capabilities and drive user interaction.
• Optimize performance, accessibility, and SEO without compromising on beauty.
• Collaborate with creative teams to translate storyboards and wireframes into fluid, responsive experiences.
• Maintain, update, and innovate existing Squarespace sites by incorporating new features and enhancing UI/UX flows.
• Troubleshoot bugs and apply responsive design techniques across devices and viewports.

Your Tools of Digital Sorcery

• Expert-level knowledge of Squarespace’s development environment, block editors, and template customization
• Familiarity with Squarespace’s developer mode, custom CSS, and Code Injection features
• Experience with Zapier, Google Tag Manager, and integrations like Mailchimp, Stripe, and Calendly
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery for elegant design tweaks and smooth interactivity
• Creative use of Figma or Adobe XD to collaborate on mood boards and prototypes
• Git and version control tools to ensure project consistency and team transparency

• You’ve built 15+ unique Squarespace websites and still find joy in each new layout.
• You think like a designer and execute like a developer

• You can take client visions and turn them into visual storytelling, even if it starts with, “We want something modern but vintage, you know?”
• You’ve got a growth mindset, love exploring trends like fluid typography or motion UI, and enjoy staying updated with Squarespace’s latest feature releases.
• You're a natural at articulating ideas and translating complex concepts into language that resonates with both creative teams and technical stakeholders

Qualifications (Just in Case You Skipped to This Part)

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on Squarespace development experience
• A strong portfolio showcasing custom-built Squarespace sites with creative layouts
• Strong grasp of mobile-first design principles and seamless functionality across diverse platforms and browsers
• Bonus: Knowledge of Webflow, Shopify, or WordPress is a big plus (because you love playing in all sandboxes)
• A degree in Web Development, Digital Media, or an equally excellent field is nice, but your work speaks louder than any diploma
