Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

1. What does a typical day look like for a Virtual Culture and Engagement Strategist?

Each day feels a little different. Sometimes youโ€™re catching up with a teammate over coffee on Zoom, other times youโ€™re mapping out a new campaign that encourages team members to celebrate each otherโ€™s wins. You might spend your afternoon digging into feedback or joining a virtual brainstorm where everyoneโ€™s voice matters. No matter whatโ€™s on your calendar, youโ€™re always thinking about what will help people feel connected, valued, and motivatedโ€”right from wherever theyโ€™re working.

2. Whatโ€™s the most meaningful challenge youโ€™ll face in this role?

Belonging doesnโ€™t happen overnight, especially online. The challenge is finding ways to turn digital interactions into real relationshipsโ€”helping people show up as themselves and feel seen, even when their office is a thousand miles away. Sometimes itโ€™s a new ritual that sticks, sometimes itโ€™s giving someone a chance to shine in front of their peers. Every day, youโ€™re looking for small moments that make the culture feel real.

3. How do you design engagement that feels genuine and not just another box to check?

It begins with curiosityโ€”what sparks conversation, laughter, or the sharing of ideas? If something feels stale or forced, you pivot quickly. The best ideas come from the team itself, so you listen closely and adapt fast. You focus on creating experiences that feel natural, fun, and easy to joinโ€”never an obligation. Authentic engagement is about listening first, then building something people actually want to be part of.

4. What technology and tools actually make a difference in this work?

You use whatever gets people talking and sharing. Some days, itโ€™s Slack for a quick poll or a random act of kindness channel. At other times, itโ€™s a recognition platform that lets people shout out a peer on the spot, or a Miro board where ideas are sketched in real-time. Tools arenโ€™t the focusโ€”theyโ€™re just the bridge to better conversations and stronger teams.

5. How does this role support your growth and career journey?

This job is as much about your growth as the companyโ€™s. Youโ€™ll have space to try bold new projects, connect with inspiring colleagues around the globe, and learn directly from every experimentโ€”win or lose. Youโ€™ll build your voice as a strategist and a creative problem-solver, and see firsthand how the work you do helps shape peopleโ€™s experience at work. If youโ€™re ready to stretch yourself, youโ€™ll find plenty of room to do it here.
